WKRN aired a segment showcasing the partnership between the Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology (TCAT) and Be Pro Be Proud Tennessee, highlighting the importance of skilled trade careers.
Tennessee is experiencing a surge in higher education enrollment, with more students opting for a diverse range of educational pathways. Thousands are now entering TCAT (Tennessee College of Applied Technology) programs, while community colleges are also seeing increased student numbers. In 2023, the Tennessee Chamber launched "Be Pro Be Proud", aiming to raise awareness around industry certifications and trade programs. This program takes its pro-trade message directly to students across the state, utilizing a mobile interactive workshop that travels to different schools and exposes students to the diverse career possibilities available in trade work.
